aden country park

commissioned by The Friends of Aden for a project designed to introduce public art into Aden Country Park. The humble wooden farm gate – once one of the most common structures in the farming landscape – is one of a series of works that mimic simple utilitarian wooden objects. Although ‘exact copies’, the changes in scale invites the viewer to encounter everyday objects very much removed from their normal context. The gate, normally a barrier, is itself hemmed in by the trees. The five ‘Wee Gates’ were placed in various locations for the opening weekend.
