some fifty teachers, professionals and students from 12 nations gathered in August 1994 amid the beautiful grounds at NAAS Manor House, west of Goteborg. WOOD 94 had three themes: fresh wood furniture, shelters, and structures. The aim of the workshop was to allow the participants to experiment with wood, to get to know its qualities and workability. For the most part only simple handtools were used. Many well-known and experienced professionals took part including Victor Papanek who contributed his extensive knowledge of design, ecology and quality of life.
